Abstract:There is a tremendous variety of hardware that is available for forms for concrete construction, and making a selection is confusing. This paper classifies form hardware by its use and by its load carrying capacity. The use and function, as well as complete description of each tie , is given. Advantages and disadvantages of the various form ties are discussed, and the application of the ties compared. Two examples are given in which different forms are designed and are compared as to cost, safe working load, and placement rates.
