Abstract:Resluts are presented from a series of tests on small scale models to determine the effective bending stiffness of floor slabs coupling shearwalls. The experimental results indicate the relative influence of the dimension and shape of the walls 9 plain walls, flanged walls, and box cores), wall spacing, and slab dimensions on the effective width and stiffmess of the connecting slab.
