Abstract:
Data have been taken on the diffusion rate of methane through concrete at atmospheric conditions. Diffusion rates were measured for both dry concrete and water-saturated concrete. Permiablity and thershold pressure have been used as parameters for governing the diffusion characteristic of concrete. Knowing the permiablity of concrete, one can compute the rate at which gases will diffuse through it.
