Title: Estimating Later Age Strengths of Concrete
Author(s): John R. Smith
Publication: Journal Proceedings
Appears on pages(s): 609-612
Keywords: accelerated tests; age-strength relation; compressive strength;mix proportioning; predictions; standard deviation; tests.
Abstract:Guidance is provided for predicting later age (28-day) strengths using STM C 918, "Developing Early Age Compression Test Values and rejecting Later Age Strengths", and in interpreting test results through examples. ASTM C 918 provides an early indication a concrete’s probable strength. Additionally, it also suggests how projected controls may be initiated before 28-day data is available.
