Abstract:
The construction of the concrete arch bridges connecting the island of Krk to the mainland is compared to earlier developments of similar bridges in Yugoslavia. The two arch bridges have spans of 390 m (1279.5 ft) and 244 m (800.5 ft). The structural system explained is based on a fixed arch with a sim ple beam bridge deck structure.
