Abstract:
Reinforced high-performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites (R/HPFRCC) have gained popularity in academia as well as industry due to their enhanced ductility and toughness compared to traditional reinforced concrete which makes them optimal for seismically active regions. Even though extensive experimental research has been conducted to understand the behavior of flexural and shear dominated R/HPFRCC structural components, a limited number of studies have looked at how R/HPFRCC columns behave under reversed cyclic loading in plastic hinge regions. The current study aims to investigate the R/HPFRCC column behavior along with the influence of parameters such as axial load ratio and reinforcement ratio. Currently, scaled column specimens are being cast. This presentation will discuss parameter selection, specimen fabrication, testing procedures, and on-going experimental results.
