Abstract:
Electrical resistivity measurements are affected by numerous factors including saturation state, temperature, and pore solution conductivity. Little research has been done in the area of characterizing the effects of lightweight aggregate on electrical resistivity measurements. With the adoption and push towards performance-based mixtures, understanding the advantages and limitations of electrical resistivity measurements is critical. This work will show how varying amounts of lightweight aggregates can affect the measured resistivity values and suggest methods to interpret the results.
