Abstract:
This presentation examines the current state related to condition assessment of bridges in the United States (US), with a focus on materials-related distress mechanisms. Conventional methods of condition assessment, as well as new and emerging technologies, will be discussed. Examples from recent field assessments will be presented to highlight applications of these emerging technologies for identifying and troubleshooting materials-related distress in bridge structures. This presentation may be of interest to both practitioners involved in bridge assessment in the field as well as the research community and those with general interest in condition assessment.
