Abstract:
This talk will provide an overview of how fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites can be designed to catch wall debris in the event of an explosion. The theoretical background undergirding catcher systems will be presented along with equations that can be used by engineers designing such systems. Comparisons to test data will be made as a means to validate the equations presented.
