Abstract:
Although the ultimate limit state due to punching shear is included in most codes and reinforced concrete handbooks, only the more simple cases are usually considered and the formulations given are incomplete. This article is meant to supply the structural engineer with a more general approach to the problem including fomulas for those cases most commont in engineering practice. These fomulas have been derived for program TT3 included in the ""Prontuario Informático del Hormigón"" (a collection of programs for the computer aided design of reinforced concrete structures) soon to be published.
