Abstract:
The creep strains developed by concrete due to the application of a load are strongly increased depending on the level of stress. This phenomenon, known as non linear creep, appears when the stress ? resistance ratio is higher than 0.40, and in this case has to be included in the creep coefficient as for example is specified in the Spanish code EHE (art. 39.8) but no formula to do it is provided. In this paper an easy to apply model is presented showing excellent agreement with the experimental data and it also allows to correct in a simple but accurate way the linear prediction given by the different codes.
