Abstract:
The present paper describes the genesis of structural Eurocodes, as well as the required stages for their application. To this end, so called NAD (National Application Documents) are to be developed. Once this framework is defined, contents of Encode 2 "Design of Concrete Structures" are introduced. As explained in the paper, previously to the development of the Spanish NAD, a comparative study of NAD?s from 13 CEN members has been carried out. The following subjects are emphasised: formal organisation, ?boxed values? adopted by each country, modifications and subjects added or extended. Finally, organisation and basic criteria of Spanish N.A.D., which will be published as appendix 13 of the Spanish Code for the Design of Concrete Structures, EHE, are explained.
