Abstract:
The Spanish Structural Concrete Code EHE-08 was the result of a review in deep of the previous code EHE-98. A large number of modifications aimed to adapt the Spanish Code to the current European Code framework and the current state of knowledge, to promote the improvement of the quality of the work without unjustified additional costs and to contribute to sustainable development. In this context, this work aimed to compare the results obtained when applying the EHE-08 and the Eurocode 2 to the design project of different concrete structures. Six structural types were studied. These types are considered representative of the most frequent structural concrete works in Spain and also cover a broad spectrum of techniques for structural concrete (reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete (post-tensioned and prestressed), prefabricated and in-place construction, building structures and public works).
