Abstract:
This article describes the main features and construction system relating to the Bridge over the river Deba, belonging to the Vitoria- Eibar Motorway at Málzaga Junction. Running in a curve, the bridge has a succession of spans measuring 42.00 +66.00 + 42.00 m, crosses a railway line, the river Deba and a road. A ?U? shaped cross-sectioned concrete deck was designed for overcoming the strict clearance problem over the road. Its edge protrudes from the roadway and the prestressing protrudes from the cross section?s edge. The deck is supported by ?Y? shaped piers. The solution, whose special features are compelled by the clearance requirement, provides the attractive shape deriving from its uniqueness.
