Abstract:
This paper is a deep view on the flexural design of reinforced concrete beams and columns. Design of cross-sections under flexure can be affordable in several ways, depending on the kind of text book used. This is especially clear when flexure is combined with axial force. Reinforcement Sizing Diagrams (RSD), have been introduced recently as new approach to design in flexure. RSD allows the engineer to choose among all the different reinforcement possibilities in cross-sectional design.
