Abstract:
The use of reinforced concrete pipe is an innovation in sewer construction in the City of Philadelphia, and its introduction led to the present invesigation. When a new material or a new construction is used, prejudice and doubt regarding its suitability are likely to exist, and queries relative to particular phases of the construction arise almost invariably. There is no better way to settle these doubts and answer these queries than by actual demostration in the form of suitable tests.
