Abstract:
Lightly reinforced simple connections, as occur at prestressed concrete beam ends, can be effectively strengthened using bonded carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates. An experimental program validates the effectiveness of carbon laminate repairs. Test results and design methodologies are presented.
