Abstract:
This proposed revision adds to the existing standard an appendix on proportioning heavyweight as radiation shielding and bridge counterweight structures. Although both proportioning methods of the existing ACI 211.1-70 are applicable to heavyweight concrete, the appendix is based on the absolute volume method which is generally accepted and weight concrete . The new appendix contains basic information on heavyweight concrete as well as examples showing how to select its proportions.
