Abstract:
A robotic reinforcing bar-tying solution for bridge deck construction has been recently introduced to the market. This machine is autonomous; it locates reinforcing bar intersections on its own and ties them with wire. Before it can get to work, workers must first tie about 10% of the reinforcing bars. It may be used on bridge deck projects ranging from 10 to 100 ft (3 to 30 m) in width.
