Abstract:
Blended cements (binders) contain fillers or supplementary cementitious materials, which are less reactive than the portland cement and thus reduce the early compressive strength. Two approaches can be used to overcome this strength reduction. The article discusses one of them that is purely physical and based on increasing the packing density of the binder particles in the cement paste using a high-range water-reducing admixture to lower the water-binder ratio.
