Abstract:
Minimum lap splice lengths for welded wire reinforcement (WWR) are presented in Section 25.5.4 of ACI 318-19 and Section 3.3.2.5(a) of ACI 301-20. In this Q&A, these requirements are interpreted for slabs-on-ground that are not included as part of a building’s lateral force-resisting system. In addition, the Q&A discusses crack control recommendations for slabs-on-ground per ACI 360R-10.
