Abstract:
A seventh-grade student science fair project investigated how different ambient and concrete temperatures affect the rate at which concrete sets. The larger question of how ACI student members can be encouraged to choose and pursue a career in the concrete field is also discussed. By interacting more with young people, pointing out the outstanding benefits of the concrete industry, the better off the industry will be in the future.
