Abstract:Shear strength of a reinforced or prestressed concrete beam results from the interaction of different resisting actions. The model described in the article is a simplification of the multi-action shear model developed by the authors. Presented equations were simplified for submission to ACI-ASCE Joint Committee 445, Shear and Torsion, considering distinct features of the ACI 318-14 Code with respect to European engineering practice.
