Title: Design of Reinforcement for Pile Caps
Author(s): Tadeusz Granosik
Publication: Concrete International
Appears on pages(s): 37-39
Keywords: compression, force, load, column
Abstract:Foundations supporting pipe racks and open frame structures used in the petrochemical industry are often subjected to uplift forces. Simplified strut-and-tie models suitable for reinforcement design for pile caps subjected to axial tension or bending moment are presented. Models include the most common configurations of pile caps currently used—pile caps supported by two and four piles.
