The article presents results from an experimental study on the effectiveness of glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars as shrinkage reinforcement for slabs-on-ground. Slabs reinforced with steel and GFRP bars were cast inside steel frames providing a high degree of restraint to shrinkage deformations and allowing for a better evaluation of different reinforcement solutions.
