The American Concrete Institute (ACI), in collaboration with ACI Sponsoring Group Strategic Resource Affirmation, announced for the first time that the ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I will now be available in Pakistan. “In today's competitive construction industry, employers are not only looking for experience but also for professionals who can demonstrate verified technical competence through internationally recognized certifications,” Strategic Resource Affirmation said. “That's why ACI Grade-1 remains one of the most respected certifications in concrete testing worldwide” Exams will be conducted in Karachi and Lahore on August 16 and 17. Interested parties must register by July 28. Candidates from anywhere in Pakistan can register. If those interested are not residents of Karachi or Lahore, they must travel to one of these cities to appear for the examination. The program requires a working knowledge of the following ASTM test methods and practices: C1064/C1064M – 23—Temperature of Freshly Mixed Hydraulic-Cement Concrete C172/C172M – 17—Sampling Freshly Mixed Concrete C143/C143M – 20—Slump of Hydraulic-Cement Concrete C138/C138M – 23—Density (Unit Weight), Yield, and Air Content (Gravimetric) of Concrete C231/C231M – 24—Air Content of Freshly Mixed Concrete by the Pressure Method C173/C173M – 24—Air Content of Freshly Mixed Concrete by the Volumetric Method C31/C31M – 24—Making and Curing Concrete Test Specimens in the Field Study material includes CP–1, 41st Edition: Technician Workbook for ACI Certification of Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I. This comprehensive study guide contains all the information needed to prepare for the exams, including: program information and instructional material, technical sections, study questions, sample checklists, a practice exam, JTA, and supplemental documents. Today, ACI offers over 30 certification programs designed to form a minimum qualification for personnel employed within the concrete construction industry. Certification examinations and optional training courses are conducted through an international network of over 135 sponsoring groups.
