Sixteen undergraduate teams participated in the ACI Virtual Concrete Solutions Competition that was hosted in the Spring following the ACI Concrete Convention. The teams submitted their projects online via YouTube and the students took part in a live interview with volunteer judges on Zoom the week of May 15, 2026. The objective of the Concrete Solutions Competition is for students to demonstrate and/or explain how their use of concrete could positively impact the world at large. This competition is broad in its scope – teams are encouraged to use creative means to present and explain their concrete approach or solution to a broad audience, including why it should interest the public at large. The event was sponsored by the Student, Young Member, and Faculty Activities Committee and ACI S801 Student Competitions Committee. The first, second, and third-place winners of the competition will receive a cash prize of $750, $500, and $250 USD respectively. Innovative Design Category Winners:

Registration is now open for undergraduate teams to participate in the Mortar Workability Competition that will be held during the Fall ACI Concrete Convention October 11-14, 2026 in Atlanta, GA, USA. This competition is limited to the first 40 teams to complete the submission round. Advance registration is due September 1, 2026. Final submissions are due September 21.
