ACI staff visit Thailand to discuss Certification, and continued collaboration with the Thailand Concrete Association

TCA’s Gifts to ACI Staff

Following a recent trip to Vietnam, ACI staff Zhu Liu and Steve Szoke conducted reconnaissance in Thailand to discover how ACI might better achieve its vision of a future where its stakeholders have the knowledge and skills to use concrete effectively in a changing world.

Staff met with a delegation of the Thailand Concrete Association (TCA), and the translation of ACI documents to Thai version was discussed. TCA expressed interest in developing ACI Certification programs to improve construction quality. Once finalized, an updated version of the previously signed MoU will be co-signed by TCA and ACI. On May 12, staff went to King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi to talk about future collaboration and delivered a speech to students titled Concrete, Codes, and Change: Preparing for an Uncertain Future.

ACI staff closed out the trip with a visit to the Inno Precast Plant on May 12.
