ACI Presented a Gift to Bureau of Philippines Standards (BPS) Director Neil Catajay ACI staff Zhu Liu and Steve Szoke visited the Philippines to explore how ACI might best support the ACI Philippines Chapter to further develop the market, including a meeting with the Chapter’s leadership. Staff met with delegates of the Department of Public Works and Highways – Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) to discuss BRS’s future collaboration as ACI’s allied organization. ACI staff also met with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) to discuss ACI support for Philippine standards. The staff participated in the induction ceremony of the ACI Philippines Chapter by speaking at the ceremony and inducting all the leadership. Following the Chapter event, staff visited the University of the Philippines at Dillman Campus and met with the Executive Vice President and the Vice President for Development to discuss future collaboration. Following the meeting, staff visited the campus, which was originally a U.S. military compound during World War II, and the soon-to-be-finished labs include a material testing lab, a fire lab, and a wind tunnel lab. ACI staff also met with the Philippines Constructors Association, an allied organization, to discuss detailed collaboration. To close out the visit, the ACI Philippines Chapter organized a trip to the Megawide Precast and Construction Solution (PCS) Plant.
