The American Concrete Institute (ACI) announced its participation at the SEI Structures Congress 2026, April 29–May 1, 2026, in Boston, MA. Hosted by the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Structures Congress is an annual event for structural engineering professionals. The conference brings together engineers, students, research scientists, academics, technologists, material suppliers, contractors, and owners to explore emerging technologies, share best practices, and advance the profession. Held at the Westin Boston Seaport District, this year’s congress features a technical program, keynote presentations, and networking opportunities focused on the future of structural engineering, including innovation, sustainability, and the impact of artificial intelligence. At the event, ACI will engage with attendees in the exhibit hall at booth #42, highlighting its globally recognized standards, technical resources, certification programs, and educational offerings that support safe, durable, and sustainable concrete design and construction. Visitors to the ACI booth will have the opportunity to: Explore the latest ACI codes, specifications, and technical publications Learn about ACI certification programs and professional development resources Discover digital tools and subscriptions supporting structural design and construction Hear about the platform ACI offers for collaboration on state, national, and model code initiatives During the event, Dominic Kelly of Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. will deliver a technical presentation titled, “ACI 318-25 Changes to the Concrete Design Standard.” The presentation, to be held on Thursday, April 30, from 2:15 p.m. – 3:45 p.m., will cover a few of the significant changes to this code, including shear strength, anchor reinforcement, sustainability and resilience, requirements for closely-spaced groups of reinforcing bars, and new mechanical splice requirements.
