The Structural Engineers Association of Michigan (SEAMi) held its annual statewide structural conference on May 11, 2017 at Michigan State University’s Kellogg Center in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. Over 100 construction professionals gathered to attend the conference. ACI served as a sponsor for the event, exhibiting and giving two presentations. ACI Engineer Khaled Nahlawi, PhD, PE, delivered both ACI presentations at the conference, the first on the repair of concrete structures, the second on mass concrete. “The talks were well received,” stated Nahlawi. “It is important that information concerning critical concrete design related topics be disseminated, especially at the local level.” Conferences such as SEAMi’s statewide structural conference provide an excellent opportunity for design professionals, ACI members, and ACI Staff to dialogue. Exhibiting at SEAMi’s statewide structural conference helps fulfill ACI’s strategic objective of expanding strong and productive relationships with external organizations.
