The 2023 Professors’ Workshop will be held in two parts; the first will be an online only event on July 17 and 18 and the second will be a face-to-face event held at ACI Headquarters in Farmington Hills, MI on July 25 and 26.
Prominent, nationally known faculty and industry representatives will present information and resources to assist professors in preparing or fine-tuning their concrete-related courses. The synchronous online portion of the workshop will focus on providing teaching resources that are suited for both online and face-to-face formats. Although the online portion will focus on providing resources, interactive online sessions are also planned to facilitate discussion and exchange ideas.
The sessions at ACI HQ will be highly interactive. Attendees will participate in numerous breakout sessions where they will develop course goals, student learning objectives in the context of topical modules, instructional materials, laboratory activities, and assessments. These breakout sessions will be focused on assisting attendees in preparing an extended syllabus and associated modules in concrete materials, structural design, and pavement design. Breakout sessions will be guided by the professors’ workshop faculty with plenty of opportunity for exchanging teaching ideas with the workshop faculty and fellow attendees. Attendees will receive a certificate of participation for attending the workshop.
