Technical session titled “New Trends and Technologies in Characterizing, Controlling, and Predicting the Workability of 3D Printed Concrete” at the ACI Concrete Convention, October 29-November 2, 2023, in Boston, MA, sponsored by ACI Committees 238, Workability of Fresh Concrete; 552, Cementitious Grouting; and 564, 3-D Printing with Cementitious Materials; and RILEM 303-PFC, Performance requirements and testing of fresh printable cement-based materials.

Solicited: Three-dimensional (3-D) printing has exploded onto the scene of concrete construction technologies, bringing with it a renewed appreciation for workability in all its aspects. This session will cover advances and challenges in characterizing, controlling, and predicting the workability of
3-D-printed concrete, from case studies to research applications. This session is suitable for people new to 3-D printing, as well as those experienced with 3-D printing.
Requirements: 1) title of presentation; 2) author/presenter name(s), affiliation, title, and email; and 3) an abstract of 100 to 200 words.
Deadline: Abstracts are due by March 31, 2023.
