Building the Future: Distinguished Lecture Series

March 12, 2021 to March 12, 2021

Virtual
Ann Arbor , MI   United States
Sponsor(s): University of Michigan Department of CEE

Description:
The CEE department at the University of Michigan is planning a series of lectures on Building the Future: A Distinguished Lecture Series for Academics and Professionals. In this particular lecture, Bruce King (who was instrumental in catalyzing the low concrete carbon code in Marin County in California) has agreed to speak on this subject which aligns well with our department’s recently released Strategic Vision. This particular seminar series is themed around our five departmental strategic directions, which describe broad themes that guide our research, education, and outreach activities as we confront the massive global challenges facing our society. Our strategic plan aims to break down traditional barriers between the lab and the field, and accelerate research into practice. As part of this effort, we launched the “Building the Future” seminar series. This series provides a forum to discuss each strategic theme and build a community that reaches beyond the department.
