MINI SESSION: Comparative Prescription for Alternative Reinforcements
Sunday, October 23, 2022 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM, H-Moreno A&B
This mini session will provide direct comparison of the prescriptive reinforcement for ACI 332 Residential Concrete Code with two of the latest technologies to advance as replacements in the marketplace, GFRP and micro steel reinforcement. This will provide support and value to the market as it seeks solutions for supply chain, material price and labor efficiency.
(1) Discuss the performance objectives of reinforcing residential concrete using alternative means;
(2) Identify the design considerations for alternative reinforcements in relation to the methodology presented in the residential concrete code;
(3) Demonstrate the experience in the marketplace with these key alternative reinforcements;
(4) Evaluate the presence of Always Advancing principles in committee education and development of core association documents.
This session has been AIA/ICC approved for 1 CEU/PDH credit.
