SMSB 2026 aims to bring together engineers, researchers, owners, and industry leaders to advance the state of practice in short- and medium-span bridge design, construction, and management. Guided by the theme “Shaping the Future of Bridge Engineering: Low Carbon, Resilience, and Automation,” the conference will promote sustainable, low-carbon approaches across the bridge lifecycle; highlight strategies for enhancing structural resilience to aging, climate impacts, and natural hazards; and showcase emerging technologies—including automation, digital design tools, robotics, and advanced sensing—that are transforming bridge engineering. By facilitating international knowledge exchange, presenting innovative research and practical case studies, and strengthening collaboration between academia, industry, and government, SMSB 2026 seeks to equip professionals with the insights and tools needed to deliver safer, greener, and more resilient bridge infrastructure for the future.
