Abstract:

A method based on orthotropic plate theory is presented to determine the distribution of lateral loads in multibeam concrete bridges that have low transverse flexural rigidity or are torsionally stiff, and thus are outside the range of the Guyon-Massonnet approach. The deflection, bending and torsional moments, shearing and reactice forces are expressed as functions of dimensionless distribution coefficients.

Abstract:

After the introduction of reinforced and prestressed concrete in bridge construction, our technology and bridge aesthetics entered into a new world. The great advantage of concrete is that it can be cast into almost any shape by a "cold" process.

Abstract:

A method is presented for the torsional analysis of single, thin-walled, trapezodial or rectangular concrete box-girder bridges which are symmetrical about the vertical axis of the cross-sections.
