New ACI Certificate Program Packages
Obtain in-depth knowledge about several topics and earn a
program certificate through the new ACI University
Certificate program packages—priced at $279, with the ACI
member rate discounted to $79.
ACI Certificate programs are designed to provide concrete
professionals with in-depth knowledge on the topics of
concrete materials, design, and/or construction by following a
defined course of study. Once a course of study for a
certificate program has been completed, the participant can
obtain a certificate through ACI University and a digital badge.
Certificate programs include: ••Fundamentals of Concrete Construction; ••Anchorage Design; ••Fundamentals of Concrete and Materials; and ••Repair Application Procedures.
ACI University is a global, online learning resource,
providing on-demand access to a wide range of topics on
concrete materials, design, and construction, with more than
200 on-demand courses and 450 web sessions. Earn PDH
credit through ACI University on-demand courses. ACI is an
approved education provider for AIA and ICC.

ACI Certification at New York Build
ACI recently participated at the New York Build show in
New York City, NY, as a gold-level sponsor. The annual show
is a construction and design expo targeted toward concrete
industry professionals from across New York and the
surrounding tri-state area. The two-day show features
exhibitors, sessions, and talks.
John Nehasil, ACI Managing Director of Certification,
presented during the show as part of the “Future of
Construction Summit.” Nehasil’s presentation “ACI and ACI
Certification—The Concrete Industry Working for YOU”
highlighted the importance of ACI certification. Topics
discussed included: ••ACI overview and certification history; ••How certification programs are developed, maintained,
and delivered; ••What programs ACI currently offers and what new
ACI’s Annual Chapter Leadership Program, held on May
20-21, 2019, attracted representatives from chapters around
the country and the world. Attendees were able to learn
practical concepts and discover resources to improve chapter
management. Bill Rushing, ACI Past President and Chair of
the ACI Chapter Activities Committee, welcomed everyone
and provided an overview of chapter activities.

Activities Coordinator; ••Meeting Planning: Considerations for Success by Michael

President, Advancing Organizational Excellence (AOE); ••Value Proposition: It’s All About Relevance by Kimberly
Kayler, President, AOE; ••Membership and Communication Strategies by Andra
Huhulea, National Account Executive, StarChapter; and ••Is That Legal? by Paul M. Collins, Attorney and Counselor
at Law, Miller Canfield.
Breakout sessions that focused on students/young
professionals, accounting, taxation and insurance, understanding
your bylaws, and project award programs were also available.

information and insight. There was also enough time to
socialize and network with the attendees and ACI staff.”
ACI has Chapters and Student Chapters located throughout
