Spreadsheet for Estimating Two-Way Slab Deflections (Microsoft Excel file)
The spreadsheet is referenced in the following article:
Scanlon, Andrew, and Suprenant, Bruce, “Estimating Two-Way Slab Deflections,” Concrete International, V. 33, No. 7, July 2011, pp. 29-34.
This article provides a simplified calculation method for estimating deflections of two-way slabs in multi-story buildings. The effects of early-age loading are incorporated. The method is implemented in a spreadsheet format, allowing users to investigate the effects of slab dimensions, design loads, and shoring/reshoring scenarios on long-term deflections. The method is shown to provide good agreement with data from laboratory tests of slabs. |
