2012-2013 ACI Foundation Scholarships (scroll down for application information)

The ACI Foundation offers scholarships for eligible graduate students whose studies relate to concrete. Unlike ACI Foundation Fellowships, those applying for scholarships do not need to be nominated by ACI-Member Faculty.

For the 2012-2013 academic year, five Scholarships in the amount of $3,000 will be available.

W.R. Grace

ACI W.R. Grace Scholarship

This is the ACI Foundation's first and longest-running industry-sponsored educational scholarship. This award was endowed by W.R. Grace and Co. and is offered annually as a continuation of Grace's commitment to new technology in the concrete industry.

ACI Scholarship

This award was established by the ACI Foundation's Scholarship Council and receives funding through generous contributions by members of ACI. This award is also granted based on the availability of contributions received.

James Lafikes

Kumar Mehta Scholarship

This award was initiated by Dr. Mehta in 2002 to recognize students pursuing research on sustainable development of concrete. Recipients must demonstrate ongoing effort to conduct graduate research on sustainable concrete.

ACI Bertold E. Weinberg Scholarship

This award was named in 2003 to recognize Mr. Weinberg, the ACI Foundation Scholarship Council Chair.

Katharine & Bryant Mather Scholarship

This award was established in 1988 to honor Katharine and Bryant Mather for their exceptional contributions to the knowledge of concrete. Initial funds were contributed by the sponsoring committee of an international symposium held in 1987 to honor the Mathers. Both Mr. and Mrs. Mather, deceased, were Honorary Members of ACI and Mr. Mather served as President in 1964. Continuing funding is provided by a gift from the Mather estate. The scholarship is for graduate study in the field of concrete.

ACI Schwing America Scholarship

This award was established by Schwing America, Inc. Recipients must have a strong combination of interest and ability to work in the concrete construction industry.
