ACI AND RMC FOUNDATIONS FORM STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (April 1, 2009) - The RMC Research & Education Foundation and the ACI Foundation are proud to announce the formation of a new strategic partnership. The Boards of the two organizations voted to approve entering into the strategic partnership at their respective March 18, 2009 meetings.

While the two organizations have worked closely together on projects previously, they wanted to formalize their partnership and demonstrate their strong working relationship through this agreement. As part of this agreement, the RMC Research & Education Foundation will work more closely with the ACI Foundation to identify research and educational needs within the concrete industry, particularly related to standards. The ACI Foundation will assist the RMC Research & Education Foundation with the dissemination of its final reports and studies. “Our Board of Trustees enthusiastically voted to approve this agreement to work more closely with the ACI Foundation,” said RMC Research & Education Foundation Chairman Karl Watson, Jr. “Their ideas for new programs, along with assistance in distributing research reports to a wide-ranging audience, will help us continue to improve quality and professionalism in the concrete industry,” he added. Claude Bedard, ACI Foundation Chairman when the partnership was formed, agreed noting “The past collaboration of our organizations has proven highly successful and we look forward to continuing that work. This is a tremendous opportunity to maximize industry resources, avoid duplication of efforts and improve the concrete industry.”

As both organizations are 501 (c) 3 non-profit organizations, this agreement helps each group to further their goals of providing programs that will benefit both the national and international concrete industry and the citizens of the United States.
