Recertification
ACI certifications are based on codes, standards, and resources that periodically change. In order to ensure that certified personnel are current on the latest standards and technology, recertification is necessary. Recertification is required every five (5) years and includes successful completion of both the written and performance examinations (when applicable).
Original certification periods and any subsequent recertification periods run concurrently (not consecutively). For programs with a work experience requirement, re-submittal of work experience forms is not required.

More on ACI Certification
Most certification examinations consist of an objective (written) examination and a separate hands-on performance examination and/or work experience evaluation. Written and performance examinations must be successfully completed within 12 months of each other. To find out more about a specific certification program, visit our ACI Certification Programs page.
Upon successful completion of the program requirements, certification credentials are issued.

Americans with Disabilities (ADA)
ACI certification programs are ADA compliant. Individuals with disabilities requiring special accommodations must contact their Sponsoring Group for further information on how to proceed. All requests for special accommodations under ADA are handled on a case-by-case basis and must be made allowing enough time for evaluation and appropriate action by ACI.
Notification of Certification Results
Certification credentials are issued upon successful completion of all program requirements. ACI Certification examination results are mailed to the address provided by the examinee on their answer sheet within 3 to 4 weeks following the examination date.
The Verify Certified Personnel search options may be used to confirm if an individual is certified. Individual certification data is uploaded to the ACI website each evening following that day's processing. It is important to remember that the search options will only return a list of individuals whose test information has been processed and who have been certified as a result. This information is dependent on when ACI receives the examination materials and if the individual is certified. If a name does not come up in the list, it is most likely either because ACI has not yet received and/or processed the examination materials or the individual was not certified.
