Why
is Student E-Membership free?
The American Concrete Institute is committed to providing students
with the connections, resources, and opportunities that they need
to be successful in their studies. With free Student E-Membership,
students in concrete-related fields will be better equipped for
successful careers in the industry. Student members will be encouraged
to continue their ACI membership post graduation as young professional
members and individual members.
How
can I meet people in the concrete industry?
The best way for you to meet people in your area is to get involved
with the local chapter. To find your local chapter, please visit ACI’s
chapter locator.
Additionally,
your school may have a chapter. To meet concrete professionals from
around the world, consider attending an ACI seminar or convention
– as a Student E-Member, you will receive a greatly discounted
registration rate.
How
can I get published in an ACI publication?
ACI encourages student participation and publication. If you are
interested in submitting a paper, research project, or article for
publication in one of ACI’s Journals, Concrete International,
or other publication click
here.
What
information will I be able to access from CI and Journal?
ACI student members have spoken, and they want access to ALL archived
articles and research from CI and ACI Journals. In an effort
to provide these resources, ACI has made them available –
as well as current articles and research from each publication –
online for free to all ACI Student E-Members. For a fee, Student
Members can elect to receive CI and one Journal in the
mail instead of electronically. Students who wish to receive both
journals in the mail can do so for an additional fee. Click
here for current fees.
What
happens after I graduate?
ACI is committed to your success as you transition from being a
student to a professional in the concrete industry. After you graduate,
you are eligible to apply for one year of free young professional
membership in ACI. Following that one-year period, ACI encourages
you to join as a dues-paying Young Professional or Individual member.
