Abstract:
The deterioration of concrete results in irreversible changes in mechanical, chemical, electrochemical, and permeability characteristics of a structure. When planning a repair, condition evaluations and diagnoses should be followed by durability planning and selection of suitable remedies to meet realistic project objectives. The authors describe a systematic approach to the improvement of performance of repaired concrete structures and steps required for a satisfactory implementation of such an approach.
