Abstract:
Capillary pressure is the origin of plastic shrinkage cracking. Hence, this pressure may serve as a direct indicator for the cracking risk in the plastic concrete stage. This article discusses newly developed instrumentation for the measurement of capillary pressure. It also provides test data showing how the instrument be used for optimizing early age concrete curing.
