Bend Type 15, also known as a truss bar or a galloping truss bar, is sometimes used as flexural reinforcement. This month’s Detailing Corner presents a history of truss bars and discusses issues concerning their fabrication and placement. It also provides an alternate reinforcing steel configuration.
