The ACI Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Concrete Institute that receives, administers, and expends funds for educational, research, and scientific purposes.

1. Concrete Research Council (CRC)
The CRC identifies research needs and provides funding and technical support to researchers.  Its Mission is to advance the knowledge of concrete materials, construction, and structures by soliciting and selecting research proposals, assisting in financing them, guiding the research, and publishing results in coordination with ACI technical committees, where possible.

The ACI Foundation entered into an agreement with the Charles Pankow Foundation in early 2008, with the purpose of facilitating research that will deliver innovative, commercially viable applications for the design and construction of concrete buildings.
