ACI Spring 2009 Convention—Making Literacy More Concrete!
Illiteracy is a growing problem in the United States with more than 50 million individuals unable to read at a basic level. In an effort to fight adolecent illiteracy, ACI will be conducting a book drive during the ACI Spring 2009 Convention in San Antonio. Donated books will go to the San Antonio Youth Literacy Council, an organization dedicated to promoting literacy skill to at-risk youth.
ACI is asking that each attendee bring a new or gently used children's book, grades K-12, to the convention. Book donations can be made in the exhibit area at the Marriott Rivercenter from March 14-19, during open exhibit hours. Following the book drive, the collected books will be distributed in the San Antonio area.
