Tours are nonrefundable.

All tours depart from the St. Charles Street entrance of the Renaissance Grand & Suites Hotel.

 

Sunday, November 2

Holcim Plant Tour
$45

Enjoy a tour of the Holcim Cement Plant. Opening in 2009, the Holcim Cement Plant is soon to be one of the largest producers of portland cement, estimated to produce over 4,000,000 metric tons of cement a year. No shorts are allowed on this tour, shirts/blouses with sleeves must be at least four inches length, and you must wear closed toe shoes. No high heels are allowed. A 20-minute safety video must be viewed before the tour begins. This tour includes a boxed breakfast. Departure for this tour will be located at the St. Charles Street exit at the Renaissance Grand.

Architectural Walking Tour

This 90 minute walking tour begins at the American Institute of Architecture Bookstore (911 Washington Avenue, across the street from the renaissance Grand). From there guests will walk down Washington Avenue, the historical loft district, and past the Merchandise Mart, The Roberts Orpheum Theater Building, and The Old Post Office. Other notable sites on this tour are, The Chemical Building, The Union Trust Company, The Wainwright Building, Kiener Plaza, The Old Courthouse, The Basilica of Saint Louis King of France, The Gateway Arch, Metropolitan Square and the Railway Exchange Building. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.This is a Contractors' Day event.

Concrete Structures of St. Louis Bus Tour

This bus tour begins at the American Institute of Architecture Bookstore (911 Washington Avenue, across the street from the Renissance Grand), and includes a narrated bus tour of, The Convention Plaza, James Eads Bridge, Jefferson Memorial Expansion Site including Eero Saarinen's Gateway Arch, The Basilica of St. Louis, King of France, The Old Courthouse, American Zinc, Lead and Smelting Building, Busch Stadium, The Wainwright Building, The Old Post Office, The City Museum and The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts. In addition to the narrated bus tour, guests will also have the opportunity to do a short 10 minute walk through the City Museum, a private 30 minute viewing of the Pulitzer, and exit the bus briefly to view the Eads Bridge. This is a Contractors' Day event.
