Description

Concrete Strength Testing Certification Training – 4 modules

This course contains four modules that prepare you for the ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician Certification Exam. Performance and written exams through a Local Sponsoring Group are required to become ACI Certified.

Capping Cylindrical Concrete Specimens

0.1 CEU (1.0 PDH)

This course describes the role of bonded capping systems for capping cylindrical concrete specimens. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to identify the need, equipment, and materials for capping cylindrical concrete specimens prior to strength testing; describe the procedure for capping cylindrical concrete specimens using sulfur mortar; and identify the precautions that need to be taken while applying bonded caps.

Compressive Strength of Cylindrical Concrete Specimens

0.1 CEU (1.0 PDH)

This course introduces you to the procedures for calculating the compressive strength and density of cylindrical concrete specimens and reporting the test results. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to identify equipment and materials, describe the procedure, and identify the precautions that need to be taken to determine the compressive strength of cylindrical concrete specimens; calculate the density and compressive strength of cylindrical concrete specimens; and identify the information to be reported in the test results.

Testing for Flexural Strength of Concrete Specimens

0.1 CEU (1.0 PDH)

This course will familiarize you with the procedure for testing the flexural strength of concrete specimens using a simple beam with third-point loading. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to identify equipment and materials and describe the procedure used to test the flexural strength of concrete specimens; calculate the modulus of rupture for concrete specimens, and identify the information to be reported in the test results.

Unbonded Caps for Hardened Concrete Cylinders

0.1 CEU (1.0 PDH)

This course identifies the equipment, materials, and procedures for capping cylindrical concrete specimens using unbonded caps. The course also identifies the precautions to be taken while capping concrete specimens using unbonded caps and the conditions under which unbonded pads need to be qualified. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to identify the equipment and materials, describe the procedure, and identify the precautions that need to be taken when capping cylindrical concrete specimens using unbonded caps; and identify the conditions under which unbonded pads need to be qualified or requalified.
